Peter and Kelsey Devison are a husband-and-wife team who have spent the majority of their adult lives working across nearly every facet of the wine industry. From dusting retail shelves to sales, marketing, importing, viticulture, and winemaking, their combined experience informs every decision at Devison Vintners.
Peter brings more than two decades of experience as a head winemaker in Washington state, while Kelsey’s background spans sales, marketing, importing, and business operations. Together, Devison Vintners serves as a creative outlet that brings their shared vision to life—crafting small-lot, native-fermented wines with complexity, depth, and character that showcase the typicity of Washington’s best vineyard sites.
Peter Devison
Owner-Winemaker
Peter was born and raised in Halifax, Canada. He decided to make the move across the country to Vancouver BC after high school and quickly found his passion for the rich culture around him. Peter attended the University of British Columbia while working at washing dishes, bussing tables, serving diners, running wine programs, and stocking wine shelves. He rapidly became very adept at sampling fine wines and skilled in the art of savoring and pairing complex notes with various cuisines.
Upon completion of all the wine certification courses available in Vancouver, Peter’s dedication to know everything he could about wine led to enrolling in school to study Enology in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Peter arrived in Eastern Washington in 2004 for a temporary harvest position. He quickly saw the vast potential and quality in wine growing and soon decided that Washington would be his new home.
Over the past 22 years in Washington state, Peter has earned numerous accolades for his unique approach to winemaking and has been featured in various publications praising his artistry and philosophy. He most recently ran the wine programs for EFESTE and Cadaretta, and has since launched his own wines alongside a consulting business focused on native fermentation. His wines have rapidly distinguished themselves not only within Washington, but on the world stage. According to Northwest Wine Report, Devison isn’t just making some of the best wines in Washington—he’s making some of the best wines in the world.

Kelsey Malm Devison
Owner – General Manager
Kelsey was introduced to wine culture in her teenage years, first working summer school breaks for a small distributor and assisting with wine resets at retail outlets across Washington state (yes—it was legal back then!).
While attending Seattle University, her curiosity for wine deepened. Kelsey continued her studies independently and later became one of the first students at the Northwest Wine Academy in Seattle, launching a career that spans wine sales, marketing, and importing.
Her early sales role with Noble Wines prepared her for Regional and National Sales Management positions with imported portfolios. Her travels around the globe bring a valuable perspective and diverse palate to Peter and Kelsey’s shared vision.
Since co-founding Devison Vintners, Kelsey has led all aspects of the business outside of winemaking, overseeing operations, sales, marketing, compliance, and customer experience. She has played a central role in growing the brand while balancing a family-run winery and raising two children alongside Peter. Her experience and strategic leadership are fundamental to shaping Devison Vintners’ brand, growth, and connection with customers.
